Starting Over — On Two Wheels
Everything fell apart.
September of 2026, My heart was broken. Suddenly it was just me and my son, Loki, facing the world with nothing.
Then I found it — the bicycle we bought when we began our journey together. Once it stood for romance and new beginnings. Now it was worn, rusted, parts missing, left forgotten.
I pulled it out and fixed it myself. It was all I had.
This old bike became our transport — taking him to school, bringing him home, carrying us wherever we needed to go. Our whole world, on two wheels.
We wanted to start our workshop again. But we had no materials. No money. Nothing.
There was only one way forward: to gather what others threw away.
At first I felt ashamed. Embarrassed. I hesitated.
My angel Loki looked at me and said: “Dad, we can't give up finding a way. I'll go with you. No worry, we can make it together!”
Every afternoon after school, after meal, after he finished homework, we set out. I rode. He sat behind. A bucket strapped to the rack.
Street by street. Playground by playground. We picked plastic bottles. Aluminium cans. Boxes. Cleared one area, then the next. I was moved by his sincerity and bravery---- and suddenly i feared nothing at all. A child's heart is pure, untainted --- something so many of us have long since lost. So often, it is the child who teaches us how to be truly human.
Slowly. Bottle by bottle. Can by can. Box by box. together.
It wasn't much. But it was honest. It was ours. No one can help us, we help each other, father & son, work together from ZERO. Start small. Stay true, Keep going.
That old bicycle didn't just carry us — it carried our HOPE.
Some might say it's just a dream, just empty promises,
But i believe you must first believe, before you can ever achieve.
If an 11-year-old can trust completely that we will make it....why is it so hard for grown-ups to do the same? Too often, we have less faith than a child.
From broken heart to fresh start. From empty pockets to something growing.
From a bike meant for romance........ to a bike built for resilience.
We have far to go. But we are moving, together.
Some have stayed by our side. Others have walked away.
And this is how we rise.........
